Bugs fixed / dictionary/kanji info dialog nuisance
September 19, 2007, 05:52:52 AM
When pressing F6/F8 while testing/learning it was always possible to open the dictionary, kanji info respectively.
In the new version this does not work well: when performing the same action, the dictionary/kanji info dialog stays in the background and can not be seen until the testing/learning dialog is finished.
Is it possible to change that?

Cheers  :D

Bugs fixed / Re: Kanjipaste does not work!

Sorry this does not work either. I can only tell you that this problem is not limited to the wadoku jiten and that I never encountered it

in Stackz 06, either with indexed dictionaries nor with unindexed ones.

If nobody else has this problem/is able to reproduce this malfunction, it seems that it can not be helped for the moment  :-[

Any ideas how I should proceed with this problem ???

Bugs fixed / Kanji Info/Dictionary Multitasking
September 15, 2007, 05:09:36 AM
Hi,

there is a problem with the Kanji Info/ Dictionary function:

in the former Stackz it was possible to do a quick check of an entry, while testing/learning. You just had to press F6/F8 in order to bring up the respective function.

Now if I try to do this while testing/learning the Kanji Info/Dictionary window just pops up for a second, vanishes, and can not be seen until you end the test/learn window.

Could you have a look into this - I would really appreciate your efforts :-)

Bugs fixed / Not really a bug

Since I lack an even basic understanding of the technical details of what you are doing this mind sound stupid, but...

Could you please change the insert entry animation?

It seems to me, that in the former Stackz the "animation", which is used to bring up the Stacks Logo when starting the program was similiar to the "animation" that creates the effect of inserting an entry from the dictionary into a stack, correct?

The problem is, that one of my computers (Intel Core Duo 1+Ghz) has problems desplaying this kind of animation. It becames awkwardly slow, which is of course unnoying when inserting entries, then taking several seconds instead of an instant.

As far as I can tell this "animation" has been altered in the new Stackz. Since here at least the Logo starts up in normal speed on the problematic computer.

As for the insertion of new entries, if there is any possibilty could you please change the way of animating that, too?!  :)

Sorry to bring this up here, but I did not know where a request like this belongs.   ???

Thank You

Hi,

a useful feature of the former Stackz was beeing able to use the Kanji Info and Dictionary for a displayed entry, while testing or

learning.

This does not seem possible in the 2007 Stackz: if you press F8/F6 while testing/learning in order to bring up the respective function

the window stays in the background so that you first have to end the testing/learning to see the result of the search.

Compared to just press F8/F6 in order to bring up the option, and Esc to close it again this is an undesirable change.

@Kinzokusei no Inu:

Thank you for your advise. However it does not provide the solution for this problem, at least not when using the "wadoku jiten".
If I select the index file and search with "analyze" un-cheked, the dictionary only shows me some random letters - with "analyze" checked nothing at all. I have to point out: since the same problem does occur with the former Stackz programm I usually do not use an indexfile.

@Chris:

To reproduce my problem select the japanese-german dictionary, "wadoku jiten" file, not indexed (see above).

Search for e.g. "hana" (in Kana) select one of the appearing Kanji, e.g. "花".

Copy and paste it in the searchbar of the dictionary and search again.

Wether "analyze" is checked or not, the search will not show a result.

Thanks

Bugs fixed / Kanjipaste does not work!

Hi,

I coul not help but notice - searching in the dictionary is no problem at all but if I try to paste a Kanji/compound into the dictionary searchfield I do not get any entries.

Since I used to do this a lot with the 2006 Stackz, I would really appreciate this feature in the new version as well.

After all this is an essential feature  ;)
