Updating the dictionary files

Is there way to use new CEDICT-files? I'm trying to use CEDICT in UTF-8 with both traditional and simplified Chinese, August 25, 2007 from http://www.mandarintools.com/cedict.html
I can generate an index file and everything seems fine but when I do a search through the dictionary dialog I get no hits. I tried to restart Stackz but it didn't help.

I'm using Stackz 2006 Dictionary edition, with a full license.

At the moment Stackz uses the EUC formatted dictionaries only, other formats will not work.

Alright,fair enough. Where can I find the latest version of a EUC formatted list?

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can use CEDICT in Stackz at the moment. I tried converting CEDICT to an EUC formatted Edict file, and about 20% of the Chinese characters don't appear in the EUC version. I think EUC is only used for Japanese. Guess you have to wait until Stackz can use Unicode dictionaries.

Yes EUC is for Japanese only indeed. Chinese dictionaries use GB2312 or Big5. Clicking the "download dictionary file" button in the dictionary configuration dialog opens the webpage <http://www.stackz.com/links.htm>, which contains links to Chinese dictionaries (traditional and simplified).

Simply add the file of your choice with the "add" button and choose the appropriate stackz language in the dictionary configuration dialog.

Please note that only the dictionary files that match the current Stackz language are selectable in the dictionary tool. You can set the Stackz language with the "Options" menu. Activating (i.e. clicking on) a Stackz document selects the language of that file (can be set in the file options).
