What wordlist is missing most?

Is there a wordlist you would like to have?

Here's a few ideas to start:

-Geographic Areas and Place names,? like prefectures and major cities, etc.? I made a small one of just the prefectures but that's as far as I got.

-A list of Kansai-ben terms

-Common colloquial and slang words or expressions

All very useful info

Here are some examples:

- nouns that we see frequently when living/travelling in Japan (roadsigns and markings, notices, signs of shops and useful things like "danger, exit, out of order, closed, put your shoes off, mind your head...)
- japanese foods and disches
- every day short expressions (used in family, with friends, familiar or polite...)
- onomatopoeia

Plus any list in Japanese-French languages.
more particularly the excellent French adaptation by Maniette "Kanjis dans la t?te" of the original "Remembering the kanjis" of Heisig

and very specifically :

I created such a wordlist and sent it in, so I guess it will show up among the other wordlists soon.

I'm looking for a German-Japanese-German Dictionary / Wordlist.
In fact I could find some in your DB's.

But it would be helpfull, to use PalmStackZ also as a dictionary.

Is there something available?
Or maybe planned in the future?

Or do you have a recommandation with links to get a dictionary for PalmOS somewhere?

Actually, any kanji or words lists that is taken directly from a story or manga would be awesome. The breaking into japanese liturature work lists are really cool. It's nice to be able to immediately apply the new vocabulary by reading something that makes use of them.

I just updated the first night list because the last page was not in the szm file. I will post it in the word list topic.

NHK is now broadcasting a show for learners of Japanese called エリンが挑戦　(Called "Erin's Challenge" in Japanese bookstores and "Getting into Nihongo" in NHK's weekly schedule). Although it has been heavily criticized (It teaches very basic grammar but some skits use advanced language), it seems to be quite popular among learners.

If someone has a transcript of this show, perhaps he could create a file for each episode containing the most difficult words a mid-beginner (Let's say, someone who has passed Level 4 of the official test) is likely to encounter. The file could be divided in Lessons that correspond with the core parts of each episode: 基本スキット (Basic skit), 応用スキット (Applied skit), これはなに? (What is this?), やってみょう, etc.

I love that show!  I record it religiously.

Dramanote doesn't have transcripts which isn't too surprising since it's not a drama.  It doesn't really fit into any of the fan communities so I doubt anyone will ever make transcripts.

On the other hand the thought of using this show as anything more than reinforcement for things you already know seems a little redundant.  Just watching the show will give you a good idea of what the words mean just by context alone.  Plus there is so much subtitling and furigana it's easy to look up words if you really really want to know their "exact" meaning.

I think it's really funny that you mentioned it though because I thought I was the only person watching it.
